Forever Herbs
April 21st, 2014 9:30am-Noon - Come enjoy the language of flowers and prepare for a year of growing, cooking and using herbs at the St. Louis Herb Society’s Spring Class. Whether you are a gardener, cook, or crafter, you will learn about edible flowers, herbal housecleaning, gardener gifts and more. Our well known chef will share her recipes and ideas for summer parties and entertaining. Experience how herbs transform ordinary meals into gourmet offerings. Designed for adults only.

Herb Days
April 23rd-26th, 2014 - Presented by the Garden Gate Shop and the St. Louis Herb Society. Choose from a wide selection of potted fresh herbs, including new and hard-to-find varieties. The society’s popular cookbook, periodicals and herb-related products will also be available. Herb Society members will give demonstrations and guidance on selecting, planting, growing and using herbs. New in 2014! Early public sale from 4-7pm on Wednesday, April 23. Members’ Preview on Thursday from 9am-Noon; public hours, Thursday, noon-5pm; Friday and Saturday, 9am-5pm Orthwein Floral Display Hall.

2014 Herb Days Plant List

The Joy of Herbs
April 24th, 2014 - Anne Cori, owner of Kitchen Conservatory and member of the St. Louis Herb Society, will share her herbal expertise in her presentation of Spot the Imposter: Choosing the Correct Herb in Cooking. Cori’s presentation coincides with the annual Herb Society Sale in Orthwein Floral Display Hall.

Herb and Heirloom Tuesdays
May 27th-August 26th, 2014 - Connect with some of the oldest friends of mankind: herbs. Drop in to explore the culinary, sensory, beauty and uses for the herb featured each week. The first 100 participants will pot an herb to take home and receive a plant profile sheet with care tips and ways to use your new plant. Tuesdays 10 a.m. to noon in the Herb Garden, weather permitting.
